About Lynn Burlingham...

What I hope to accomplish as a writer

To communicate to others through fiction and non-fiction the visions and stories that I see, mull over, and develop in my mind.

Things I love to do...

Kayak. My husband Paul and I kayak at our cabin in Wisconsin and on Table Rock Lake in the Ozarks.

Swim. I love to swim in the ocean, in lakes, and dip in streams.

Read. Curled up in any soft corner, I read books of many genres. The best reading experience of all is one where the writing is so evocative and informative that I am drawn into a new world without knowing how I got there.

Talk. I thrive on discussions about life with Paul, my two children, Roland and Cora, my siblings, and with friends.

Things I have written.

Jewels that Speak (Memoir)
My quest to establish my own identity separate from infamous and ordinary relatives.

Gifted or Just Your Average Weirdo? (Young Adult novel)
New York City teenager, Michael Clancy, loves and hates that he’s different when he stumbles into a discovery of his potential.

In-Between Summer at Old Black Point (Young Adult novella)
Twelve-year-old Jenny heads into her summer expecting things to be the same, but against her will, she and her world change.

So Good (Young Adult novella)
The trials of fifteen-year-old Sam Coolidge–labeled learning disabled, with school, single mother, and boys.

Come Say Goodbye (Young Adult novel)
Set in England, Norway, and America in the sixties, Come Say Goodbye is a study of how different two young people can be and yet how in love they can also be. Suki is a serious sheltered American girl when she meets handsome devil-may-care Kjell on Christmas ski holiday and falls in love.
